About
Knight Online Game
Knight Online is an MMORPG developed by MGame Corporation. Currently there are many different companies that host this game by geographic region. Some are Free to play while others are Pay to Play. Three major updates have been released for Knight Online. In September 2005, a major update known as Knight Empire was released that changed a few maps, added new item upgrading systems, and introduced the King system into the game. On or about August 3, 2006 a new expansion called The Reign of the Fire Drake was released. The update added several new maps, quests, monsters, and bosses; changed the user interface, introduced the Post-Office system and Chaotic Generator, and increased the maximum level cap to 80. The most recent expansion for the game was released in late 2007 as: "Moradon: The Resurrection". This expansion added a couple of new things to the starter city, Moradon (See the index for more information). The city was totally modified and the hunting area for killing monsters was modified, too.
Knight Online World thrusts players into a relentless world with the most hardcore PVP environment in the MMORPG genre. After choosing a nation, the player takes part in the epic war between the noble kingdom of El Morad and the monstrous Karus, fighting for glory in the endless stream of battles that characterizes the struggle. They can form clans, strive to achieve the ranking of Knight, embark on quests to master their combat abilities, and even become King of their respective nation. Knight Online delivers a gritty world of combat and strife with regular updates to content in the form of patches and expansions, growing the conflict with every passing week.
In the ever-expanding and competitive realm of MMORP, Knights Online has a sturdy reputation for offering the most for free. A heavily-populated game, with nearly 300,000 people online when we played, Knights provides a familiar fight-and-quest medieval milieu that encourages interaction with other players but doesn't demand it.
For a free download, the graphics are top-rate. As you acquire weapons and armor, your character's physical appearance changes to reflect both the new implement of death being swung and the new pants you're wearing. The POV changes are fairly smooth and occasionally disorienting for it. There also is a paid upgrade version that opens up a community that allows you to sell items at a higher rate and more power.
The user subscription has another benefit: consistent access. The game is so popular that free players are blocked during peak hours. There are the usual drawbacks of cheaters and complaints about customer support, but the biggest problem we encountered was the installation. On top of the massive install file, we were required to add 13 patches with absolutely no documentation; it was only from the Web site's player forums that we learned about them.
All that being said, it's a fun game that can magically obliterate your free time--and leave you happier for it.
